A bridge consult is your opportunity to ask questions, learn about the process, and make sure that a bridge is the right choice for you.

What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a type of restoration dentistry that replaces missing teeth with artificial ones. It's called a bridge because the artificial teeth are literally "bridged" to your natural teeth on either side of the gap. Bridges are a great way to restore your smile, improve your ability to chew, and prevent your remaining teeth from shifting out of place.

What Happens During a Bridge Consult?

During your bridge consult, you will meet with a prosthodontist, a dentist who specializes in the restoration and replacement of teeth. The prosthodontist will:

•  Examine your mouth: They will take X-rays and examine your teeth and gums to make sure that you are a good candidate for a bridge.
•  Discuss your options: They will talk to you about the different types of bridges available and help you choose the one that is right for you.
•  Create a treatment plan: They will develop a customized treatment plan that outlines the steps involved in getting your bridge.
•  Answer your questions: They will answer any questions you have about the procedure, including the cost, recovery time, and potential complications.

What Questions Should You Ask During a Bridge Consult?

Here are some questions you should ask during your bridge consult:

•  What type of bridge is right for me?
•  How long will the procedure take?
•  What are the risks and complications of getting a bridge?
•  How much will it cost?
•  What kind of follow-up care will I need?

What to Expect After Your Bridge Consult

After your bridge consult, you will have a better understanding of whether or not a bridge is the right choice for you. If you decide to proceed with the procedure, the prosthodontist will schedule a follow-up appointment to begin the process.
